Tarányi

2016

A rich, mineral yet elegantly floral Riesling harvested from old vines that grow on soil rich in basalt debris in the Tarányi vineyard which lies at the foot of Szent György Hill. A small batch that was fermented spontaneously in only two 500-litre Kádár oak barrels. It was aged for seven months in a one-year-old barrel and a new barrel on fine lees. Complex nose of white flowers and dried apricot, with a long, stony, peachy palate.

Fermented in three 500-liter barrels and a 500-liter tank, merged before bottling. Cool, neutral smell of minerals, hints of salt, gooseberry, grapes and white peas, the spice of the barrel just appears a little bit. Medium body, creamy and vigorous to drink with tight acids, incredible salty mineral, peach, pear, tropical fruits, citrus. More and more layers emerge with the sip; once fruitiness, once the salty notes come, but ultimately the latter wins. Serious wine, beautiful content, hedonism at the top

It was made with multi-step harvest, mixed tank and barrel usage. Fresh spring flowers, apricot, green apple and elegant barrel spices, good balance, fresh acids, medium-bodied creamy sip, apricot, almond and salty flavor.
